Frequently Asked Questions

There are three ways to start a chat:
  1. To chat with CareerCon attendees: you can select the “Search Attendee” feature at the top right of your screen and select “Chat Now” underneath the individual you would like to chat with.
  2. To chat with CareerCon Partner Representatives: You can select the “Partner Booths” feature at the top left of your screen and click on the partner logo. Once you have entered the partner’s web page, you may click on “Chat” found at the bottom right panel of the page.
  3. To check your chat messages and start a new chat with a current, online attendee: click on the gold Chat Icon on the right side of your screen. Here, you will find your messages and the ability to start a chat with any CareerCon attendees that are currently online under “People”. Click on the attendee name that you see there. The chat meeting screen will open, you can start the conversation when the attendee comes online or you can send them a message on the chat screen. They will see the message when they come online and visit the chat.
The gold Chat Icon on the right side of your screen will notify you that someone is chatting with you and/or that a message is waiting for you
Attendees: You may search for the partner organization from the “Partner Booths”, and click on the partner logo. Once you have entered the partner’s web page, you may click on the “Book a Meeting” found at the bottom right panel of the page and you will see each booth representative’s availability. Select the time you would like to meet with them and click “Reserve a Slot” in order to submit the meeting request. They will receive an email with your request. Exhibitors: You can use the gold Chat button located on the left side of your screen and request a meeting directly with the person you would like to meet with; simply click the “Chat” button and select “Invite for Further Discussion” to schedule a meeting
You will receive an email that says “Thank you for your submission, your meeting invitation has been declined."
Please wait a few minutes, and you can also send them a chat message. They will see it once they come online. If they do not show, it is possible that something came up during that scheduled meeting time. Send them another request or send them a message in the chat.
You will receive an email with a request and you will need to accept the invitation. Once you accept the meeting, both parties will receive an email confirmation. Be sure to check your spam or junk folder for these emails during the event.
Yes! You can meet with audio only, or you can also add video once you are in the chat feature
